I love sushi. Not the raw kind, only cooked sushi. For the longest time, though, my boyfriend was repulsed by most types of seafood, especially sushi. One night recently, we went to our favorite Japanese steakhouse, which happens to have a sushi bar. Its a small place, but the food is amazing. They had a huge party, which took up most of the restaurant, and the only available seats for at least an hour, the hostess told us, were at the sushi bar. Despite some grumbling, we took those seats. Behind the sushi bar, was this brightly-colored, wallmount chalkboard displaying the sushi specials for the night. Instead, he chewed it and swallowed. Then, I asked, "Well, what did you think?!" To which his response was, "What was that? It was delicious!" Before I could even answer, he stared up at the wallmount chalkboard and ordered one of each of the sushi specials. I tried to warn him that one of the specials was raw eel, but he didn't listen. He wanted to try it. It was a miracle! I never knew a wallmount chalkboard could have such an effect on someone!
