Clearly there is more than meets the eye when it comes to this enclosed cork board. Do you remember how, about a month ago, I let you know about the business card holder’s attempts at achieving world domination? Well I just recently found out, from Winston, that they’ve now recruited cork boards to help win their battle. You see people were starting to understand that if they simply keep their business card holder full of business cards, they would be too weighed down to strike. As a result, they’ve taken to finding minions to do their dirty work. Cork boards are just 1 of many recruited.

This particular enclosed cork board is the leader of the pack. With its swing-open door it has taken charge over the other cork boards, giving orders and distributing tasks. It even has a self-healing cork surface, making it almost impossible to injure. It’s like the Wolverine of cork boards! Not to mention the enclosed bulletin board’s locking capabilities. If you don’t have the key, your important flyers and announcements will be locked up for good. And you cannot shatter the front panel either; it’s made from acrylic!

So what do we do to protect ourselves from this oak-framed tack board? To be honest, I’m not quite sure. Winston is working on finding out its weaknesses, but until that information is determined, our best bet is to keep all cork boards on display and in use. I have your typical office job. I sit in a little cubicle, with high walls. A prisoner to my computer for 9 hours a day. I don't, however, have your typical boss. Nope. My boss forgets what she's assigned me to do, and the work load just piles up. I was forever having to remind her of what I was working on, when she'd come by my cubicle and sternly say "Hey, why weren't all of those changes made on the web yet? I asked you to do those this morning! It should only take 7 minutes. Seven minutes tops!" Her time estimates were never in "real people" time. Then one day it dawned on me. A combination cork board and markerboard! If she saw, written down, what was on my plate, maybe, just maybe she'd remember all the tasks that she kept piling on me.

I bought a combination cork board and markerboard that I found at CorkBoards.us.com. The combination cork board conveniently came with a set of dry erase markers, so I got right to writing. I took the time to neatly write down all of the tasks she'd assigned to me on the markerboard. On the cork board, I posted all of the notes she'd left on my desk with things she wanted me to accomplish. I had no sooner mounted the combination cork board on my cubicle wall, when the boss lady came around. She hadn't even gotten the words out to ask what I was working on, when she noticed my long, long list hanging on the wall. Impressed, she proclaimed, "I guess you're busy this morning. I'll come back to see you after lunch, and hope to see that board all clear. That list shouldn't take you more than 2-3 hours tops. I mean I could do it in 43 minutes. But I'll give you 3 hours." The combination cork board was a success. Ok now back to work before my 3 hours is up!
